When you hear someone say “I’m wearing my Sunday’s best”, what comes to your mind? You think that they are wearing the best suit they have because everyone at least dresses up for church on Sunday right? That’s what comes to my mind too. I usually wear a formal and elegant looking dress or a blouse with skirt.
Sunday’s best is one’s best clothes and it is a term used to describe formal clothes usually worn to church on Sundays. In olden days in England, people wore workman’s clothes during the rest of the week to work on their farms and on Sunday wore their best and cleanest outfits to church. Hence the term ‘Sunday’s Best’.This is that dress you wear when you just want to feel a little more beautiful and feminine without looking too overdressed. How about you?
